Jessica Lea Mayfield Hartford Concert reviews
Still sounds like ZZ Top after all these years
In 1983, I saw Jessica Lea Mayfield last time during the Eliminator tour, which was a massive arena tour filled with props and pyrotechnics. It ranked among my top 10 concerts.
The show at this venue was more intimate, with a toned-down stage production. While there were no giant cars, robots, or fireworks, it still embodied Jessica Lea Mayfield's signature sound.
It was a lively performance that brought back memories of the past. They performed all their popular hits along with some lesser-known tracks like Pin Cushion and covered songs such as Purple Haze and Act Naturally, which was quite unique.
Overall, the concert was fantastic. My only gripe was with the sound mixing at the arena, where the bass and bass drum overshadowed the guitar and vocals that could have used a boost.
